One of my proudest collections to date because it means so much to connect with my roots. As someone that grew up in Wales, I couldn't resist designing a collection that brings in a traditional way of gift giving to your loved ones. Today, lovespoons are given for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, new babies, and other milestones, the perfect way of expressing love and celebrating life's most meaningful moments.
When my husband and I got married in 2017, our favours celebrated our love with love spoons and another classically traditional item in Wales, welsh cakes (delish). Growing up in Wales and my family still living there helps me to stay connected to my welsh upbringing. I love so much about the country, how love is celebrated and cherished and knowing how much these traditions stemmed often from those that always worked so hard and found ways to symbolise their love through crafting lovespoons from wood. Everything I love about the lovespoon really does help to hold a symbol of how special bonds are.
An additional personal part of the lovespoon jewellery was in choosing to name one of the pendants Arianwyn - I am so blessed to bring my own child's name into this collection and really express how much she means to me. Arianwyn means "woman of silver," now that I'm a jewellery designer and maker I cannot believe her name means this, I feel like she was the start of my jewellery journey and I thank her so much for unlocking this passion and spark. I love being her mum, knowing KMC brand has been further sparked by my love for her and showing her that anything is possible and you can always chase your dreams.
These lovespoon pendant really do capture my pure heart and sole in these pieces celebrating the two loves of my life, my daughter and my husband.
